Our Story

Sajjiva, derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “the act of reviving”, was born out of a longing to bring India’s craft traditions back into the heart of contemporary life. Founded in 2024 by Monica Gaur, the label is a quiet, enduring dialogue between heritage and modernity, between what is remembered and what is reimagined.

Every Sajjiva garment is 100% handwoven and hand-embroidered, designed not to follow seasons, but to transcend them. Each silhouette is guided by patience, precision, and poetry. It is in the pauses, in the imperfections, in the human touch, that Sajjiva finds its soul.

Rooted in purpose and crafted with consciousness, Sajjiva celebrates Indian artisanship not as an aesthetic, but as an emotion. Every thread, motif, and weave speaks of revival, of an art form passed through generations, of a culture that endures through the rhythm of the loom.

Sajjiva stands as a promise to those who create and those who wear, that fashion can be both timeless and thoughtful, where luxury is not in abundance, but in authenticity.

The Designer’s Vision

“Design, to me, is an act of devotion, a way of preserving stories that time cannot erase.”

— Monica Gaur, Founder & Designer

For Monica Gaur, creation begins with reverence, for the people who make, the materials that breathe, and the traditions that shape identity. Her vision for Sajjiva grew from a simple truth: that handloom and hand embroidery are not relics of the past but living legacies that deserve to evolve with grace.

Through her work, she redefines Indian luxury, not as spectacle, but as soul. Her designs are fluid, rooted in the language of craftsmanship yet tailored for the modern woman who values elegance with meaning.

To Monica, Sajjiva is more than a label. It is a revival, of emotion, of artistry, of belonging. It is where a thread becomes memory, and memory becomes design.

The Spirit of Sajjiva

At its heart, Sajjiva is a reflection of quiet strength, of beauty that doesn’t demand attention, but earns it through depth. Every creation is born from collaboration: between the artisan’s hand, the designer’s eye, and the timeless rhythm of craft itself.

We design slowly, consciously, and with care. Because the finest things are not made in haste, they are woven with time.
